Recent Leathercraft

I've dabbled in leathercraft a bit in the past, making a few axe sheaths and knife sheaths. I decided to branch out slightly over the weekend. Having seen a ton of hipster posts on Instagram and various other places, I first made a leather sleeve for using a mason jar as a coffee cup. It was an easy project involving a rectangle of leather and some waxed thread similar to artificial sinew used on my kayak projects, only round instead of flat.

Next, the more complicated project - a new wallet! I used leather and waxed thread here again, but this time made an inert of canvas from a packaging sack for a biscuit mix a coworker brought me back from Natchez, MS last year. I kept it to put a camera in or some other suck thing when camping, but decided it would add character to my project and it went under the knife. Here is the resulting wallet. My design and whatnot.

Since I had some leather, waxed thread of various sizes and a small canvas bag from a biscuit mix laying around, I made a wallet.
